About Hands on Lifts - South Africa

In response to a local demand for home elevators and lifts for the disabled, Greg Robertson opened Hands on Lifts in 1999. He had been involved in the lift industry in South Africa since 1990 and wanted to start his own business following his passion for this industry.

Hands on Lifts has become a thriving company.  The extensive building developments over the past few years have had a high demand for the range offered by Hands on Lifts. In addition, legislation has finally been passed to enforce accessibility for all people. Hands on Lifts has installed lifts in numerous private homes, public places, places of learning, medical facilities and homes for the elderly. The biggest project to-date is ensuring accessibility for all at the Wits Faculty of Arts and the Johannesburg College of Education.

The Vimec range of passenger lifts - stairway lifts, interior wheelchair lifts, residential wheelchair lifts, platform lifts  - are imported from Italy, important as South Africa slowly comes in line with European standards.

Hands on Lifts has completed projects all over South Africa. An essential part of their offering is the after sales service, provided through their service division - Siyakhula Elevators. Siyakhula Elevators provide reliable, professional and skilled lift repairs and automotive lift maintenance.

The list of completed projects shows you the experience that comes with a lift purchased from Hands on Lifts. You can feel comfortable that your lifts are in the right hands with Hands on Lifts.
